Expert Evaluation

OPR offers consulting services to the legal profession pertaining to expert evaluation of orthotic or prosthetic device(s). Those services consist of the following:

• a review of the written materials relating to the case.
• an examination of the orthotic and/or prosthetic device(s) involved in the case.
• a verbal response as to the expert opinion relating to the issues involved in the case.

     No expert testimony is given by OPR until a thorough evaluation of the particular case, product, or service is completed.
     In the event that expert testimony becomes necessary, OPR will provide the following:

• an identification of the prosthesis or orthosis involved (manufacturer, model number, componentry, design, etc.)
• a description of the general condition and appearance of the product(s)
• a description of the possible cause(s) of the prosthetic and/or orthotic malfunction.
• a description of the fabrication criteria relating the individual's functional level.
• a determination of the product suitability relating to the individual's lifestyle and needs.
