Quality Improvement

A Quality Assessment and Improvement (QAI) Plan is created for an orthotic and/or prosthetic company to objectively evaluate the quality of patient care and to implement the necessary steps to improve that care on a continual basis. In today's healthcare marketplace, more orthotic and prosthetic practices with established practice guidelines need to develop QAI Plans which are "outcome based" to measure their level of quality.
Most orthotic and prosthetic facilities (which are certified by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics, Inc.) utilize results from patient satisfaction surveys to determine their quality of care and develop an ongoing plan for improvement. These surveys are an important part of the process. However, OPR can assist your business in the development a QAI Plan that goes beyond patient satisfaction surveys. A thorough, well-defined QAI Plan can have a positive impact on your business revenue and outcomes.

OPR offers the following assistance in the development of QAI Plans:

With an effective QAI Plan, a small O & P company has the potential to demonstrate high, positive outcomes to its patients and managed care contractors.
As it is becoming more important to record and track the outcomes of your O & P practice, it is also becoming more difficult to do so with the constraints which are placed upon the individual practitioners or owners of smaller facilities. If you are too busy with the demands of patient care to tend to the quality assessment and improvement needs of your orthotic and prosthetic practice, let OPR assist you.
